"I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough. We must do." [Leonardo da Vinci]
Think
about these words which were spoken by Leonardo da Vinci. Can you hear him speaking to you? What is so dynamic is how relevant his words apply to how you need to be reacting TODAY!
Listen... this was a quote from the early 16th Century. Even though none of us were alive in the 16th Century somehow, and on some level these
very words apply to us HERE, RIGH NOW, TODAY in the 21st Century! This was a man who was centuries ahead of his time. A genius of his own right... an architect, sculptor, engineer, draftsman, and painter. His paintings epitomized the Renaissance humanist ideal.
I ask you... How focused and disciplined are you with the
'urgency of doing?
Unlike in the era of Leonardo da Vinci, we live in a world of constant communication we get information in lightning speed on any topic we choose via the internet. What do you do once you have obtained the knowledge you seek? Do you just toss it by the wayside, or do you aggressively put it into action
towards improving whatever situation it applies to?
For example, if I asked you... What is your biggest problem?
Quite frankly the answer to this question might be quick,
slow, pensive or totally ignored. But guess what, no matter which way the words erupt from you or not...one outcome is definite for all of you.
As long as you simply 'know' the problem and if not acted on to resolve it...the problem will more than likely always remain a 'thorn in your side'. The only way to 'pull it out' and
get rid of the pain it is causing is to know the options to resolve it, and most important...act upon the resolutions. Like Leonard da Vinci says, "Being willing is not enough. We must do."
